Bitterroot Ranch

This lovely little heifer is a keeper. I'll be keeping her to breed to my new miniature Jersey bull, just arrived from Fonnie Thoman's in Ohio. David wanted me to get more active with the cattle but I'm much more excited about having a little herd of miniature Jerseys. The folks who farmsteaded our place in 1910 built a dairy barn on a very small scale. Well, actually it's a bit barn but the cement pad between the stanchions and the trench is very short - we could figure it out till they sent us photos of the tiny jerseys they had back in the 1930's.

Here's Cadfael - he just arrived this past week. He's just over 5 months old now and he's a cutey.
